Last Sunday “Juan Pablo Montoya” (Team - McLaren) surprised the F1 community by announcing his departure from not just McLaren, but from Formula One altogether.
He plans to make his debut in the U.S. based stock car series - NASCAR for the year 2007 with “Chip Ganassi Racing” team.
Today for the French GP at Magny-Cours, he was replaced by “Pedro de la Rosa”.
His contract with McLaren lasts till the end of this year, and it seems that McLaren will not allow him to participate in any testing programs for NASCAR up till the end of there contract.
This was a real bad news, because he was a talented driver and was on the list of top 5 F1 drivers.
The good news is that this might ignite my interests in NASCAR. I would be exciting to watch “Juan Pablo Montoya” drive in NASCAR, with cars bumping into each other.
