Alibag - Kankeshwar Shiva Temple - The quest for peace.

The starting point towards Alibag Kankeshwar Shiva Temple, the village named Mapgaon / Mapgao.
The magic of water, trapped in this image. My best friend Ajju (Ajit Patil)(L) and my brother Amit (R) sitting beside the “Brahma Kund”.

Mist or Fog, actually these are the clouds, as we reach 1,200 ft above sea level. This scenic beauty will drive you mad.

A huge water reservoir, locally called “Pokhran” or “Kund” located just behind the Main Kankeshwar Shiva Temple
The “Brahma Kund” with its awesome beauty, during heavy rains, the water level rises up to the doors, and sometimes overflows.
A small temple near the “Brahma Kund”.
A small idol of the goddess, at the starting of the steps.
Main entrance of the Kankeshwar Shiva Temple. The dog posing like the lion guardian idol, accompanied us all the way down, I don’t know why?
The huge Kankeshwar Shiva Temple, with a gold tip over the top.
A beautiful tree.
Idol of lord “Hanuman”.

Our day started at 06:00 am, a 2hrs.-30min. journey in heavy rains. This trip started at 02:00 pm up till 05:30 pm. At night we went for a Crab-hunt from 08:30 pm to 01:00am, in the jungle.

This whole day was full of enjoyment!

Open this blog in Internet Explorer, where Alt-tags are visible, with the description of the images.
